Warner Bros. has promised that Mortal Kombat X PS4 is going to be the "most brutal Kombat experience" that players will ever experience, and true to their word is the revelation of new characters that are stirring interest within the gaming community for the game's upcoming release date.

The latest combatant to join the bolstering Mortal Combat X roster is the treacherous sorcerer Quan-chi.

According to the latest Mortal Kombat X trailer, Quan-chi will play a major role in the Mortal Kombat X story.

Quan-chi first saw the light in the 1996 animated television series 'Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm.'

He debuted in video game land through Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, but became playable in Mortal Kombat 4.

Quan-chi appears as a regular super villain of the game.

With Mortal Kombat X, his character will come in three variants – a Sorcerer that uses his infamous spell during combats, a Warlock that unlocks portals and Summoner of underworld creatures to assist him in fights.

His powers are greatly appreciated when he uses portals to punch the enemy from a distance.

NetherRealm Studios has also announced the comeback of Shokan fighter Goro.

Missed by fans after being absent in Mortal Kombat roster for a decade now, Goro's character is now playable with pre-order pack, and hopefully in a downloadable content.

Quan-chi and Goro will join a string of new characters on the Mortal Kombat X roster, including D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn, Raiden, Kano, Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

The Mortal Kombat X release date is scheduled for April 14, 2015 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC, and pre-orders are on-going.
