After Lenovo's chairman, Yang Yuanqing, had only just revealed that the company will be soon launching the first devices bearing the Moto brand name since officially taking over Motorola, a new video has surfaced online showing the third-gen Motorola Moto X along with some of its key specifications.

The second-generation Moto X is now almost eight months old and Motorola has been widely expected to release its successor, dubbed Moto X 3rd Gen, sometime later this year. Last month, a new leaked specs sheet had provided complete technical details of the upcoming third generation Moto X.

In the latest 4-minute long YouTube video, the unannounced Moto X (Gen 3) can be seen with a Bamboo back, which features a new metal plate connecting the rear camera, dual-LED flash below and the company logo in the center. The front panel of the third generation Moto X with model number XT1097 in the video can also be seen sporting a bunch of sensors on either side of the speaker.

According to the specifications provided in the video, the new Moto X will come in plastic, wood, and leather builds, and feature a 5.64-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution display. The handset will be powered by a Snapdragon processor paired with 3GB RAM and 21GB of inbuilt storage. The Moto X (Gen 3) will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and come with USB Type-C support and stereo speakers.

Motorola has always stuck to yearly refreshes for its flagship Moto X phone by launching the handset's new versions in 2013 and 2014, though it is yet to officially announce the 2015 edition. Earlier, Rick Osterloh, Motorola President, had also confirmed that the company always tries to maintain an annual product cycle. This indicates that the next-generation Moto X could be unveiled by around September, as the Moto X (Gen 2) was also launched at the same time last year.
