It's that time of the year again when NBA teams are looking at fortifying their respective roster of basketball players in preparation for the playoffs next year. Basketball fans are rooting for their team of choice and a lot are looking forward to the Cleveland Cavaliers making it to the championship round if they win the Eastern Conference again. Rumors suggest that the Cavs are looking to add a back up guard to ensure their potential victory.

In a discussion with writer Joe Vardon on Cleveland.com, he mentioned that the Cavs might be looking for a strong 3-point shooter. However, there is no definite information on which player the team is eyeing to add to their already sturdy line up of ball handlers made of LeBron James, Iman Shumpert, Kyrie Irving, and J.R. Smith.

Meanwhile, NBA's most highly coveted players for the next season are Blake Griffin, forward for Los Angeles Clippers, and Rudy Gay, Sacramento King's scorer. Speculations are strong that one of these two athletes is expected to end up with Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, with the Clippers going against big teams such as Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference, they just might reconsider letting go of Griffin.

There are rumors suggesting that Oklahoma City is really going after the 30-year-old Gay who is also doing quite well in Sacramento. While Russell Westbrook is Oklahoma's pride, it is undeniable that he will be needing a bit of back up as he approaches the age of 30 bearing knew surgeries. However, some critics think that Oklahoma should invest on a more reliable wingman long-term as Gay considerably falls short of Kevin Durant's performance.

In other news, it is believed that Milwaukee Bucks is ready to trade Greg Monroe and it looks like Boston Celtics will be his new home. Past observations revealed that Monroe does not seem to fit in head coach Jason Kidd's game plan. Monroe's playing minutes has gone down in the last three games averaging 9.0 points, 0.5 blocks, and 6.7 rebounds in 11 games.

Rumors are hinting that the Bucks will trade Monroe for three players that include Jonas Jerebko, Amir Johnson, and James Young. Monroe might replace Al Horford as center while the latter is believed to move as power forward.

Other teams have also shown interest in getting Monroe aside from the Celtics. These teams are made up of Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets, and New Orleans Pelicans.
