Former Los Angeles Laker and NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal has not really been known to be consistent when it comes to fearless forecasts, though there is always a first time.

The man known to some as "The Diesel" made a bold prediction recently and it had something to do with Kevin Durant. For Shaq, he sees Durant possibly headed to the Los Angeles Lakers when asked on his call of the former NBA MVP's plans via the Vine.

Shaq unfortunately didn't have facts to support his claim, making it nothing more than just mere speculation on his end. But looking at the planned retention of the Lakers' young core, a Kevin Durant coming could make sense.

However, Durant is looking to win a title and the Lakers don't seem to be molded to do that just now. He stands to be the new face of the ballclub, though that doesn't seem to be his priority right now. As some debate, why head to a rebuilding team when you are already with the OKC Thunder which is several steps away from the gold?

Fame and money are obviously not an issue with Durant likely to satisfy all that instantly. But it may take more than that to convince him to sign, even if Kobe Bryant is commissioned to help pitch to the high scoring forward.

There are other teams expected to pitch to Durant like the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards or even the powerhouses like the Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavaliers. But even with the long line of teams wanting to tempt Durant to jump ship, the obvious priority is still the Thunder.

For now, Durant is expected to stay mum on the issue. The Thunder are currently in the playoff hunt and will try to make a serious go at the NBA title. Curiously, one of the teams that could be talking to him in the offseason stand in the way – the Warriors.
