New Chromebooks 2014: Acer launches powerful C720, 20 new models to come out by holidays

Google and Intel will tandem to bring at least 20 new Chromebooks in the market by the latter half of the year.
The new breeds will be based on Intel's Bay Trail-M system on a chip, a more efficient and powerful system.
"Bay Trail is optimized for power, performance and cost," Intel's VP and general manager, Navin Shenoy, said. "They're the first Chromebooks that are also now available with over 11 hours of battery life, which is up from about 10 hours on Haswell."
Chromebooks have seen most success in the education sector, and much has been said about its capability to penetrate the business market.
But, recent improvements and Google's dedication to recreate the power and efficiency of a laptop combined with cloud computing paradigm, it is now closest ever to conquering the corporate world.
In his official blog posted last May, Director for Chrome OS Partner Engineering, Bill Brougher announced the expansion of the Chromebook family.
"Together with Intel, today we're announcing a new lineup of Chromebooks with Intel inside from leading manufacturers Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG and Toshiba—spanning an entire range of shapes, sizes, colors and configurations."
Included in the new releases are Lenovo N20p Chromebook, Thinkpad YOGA 11e Chromebook, ASUS C200 Chromebook, ASUS C300 Chromebook, latest versions of Dell Chromebook 11 and Acer C720 Chromebook.
Acer C720 has just been launched and sports fourth generation Haswell Intel Core i3 processor, the same chipset you can find in a real laptop.
Other specs include 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, includes USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, HDMI for connection to an external monitor and entirely cloud-based with 2GB to 4GB RAM.

A Chromebook is a laptop driven by Chrome OS and primarily used while connected to the Internet and the cloud (where applications and data are stored).
It has a decent and much cheaper price tag than a conventional laptop.
In fact, one can get a Chromebook equipped with low-end chip for just $200.
The current production of high technology hardware of Chromebooks is being anchored by Taiwan according to Forbes.
