Nexus 5 (2015) release date, specs, rumors: LG, Huawei or Motorola in running to build Google's next-gen handset? Nexus releasing two 2015 devices this year

There have been contradictory reports in the media about Google being in talks with different manufacturers, such as Huawei, LG and Motorola, for manufacturing the next-gen Nexus handset. Recent reports in the South Korean media had indicated that Google was more likely to choose LG to build the next-gen Nexus 7 smartphone in 2015. Apparently, LG is working together with Google on an "N000″ device, which will ultimately be sold as the Nexus 7 sometime this year.

Speculations that LG would build the Nexus 7 this year became even stronger after executives from Google were spotted making visits to various company locations, such as LG Display and its facilities for manufacturing smartphone components, like wireless charging modules and cameras with optical image stabilization.

But with Google holding talks with different manufacturers, it is now being speculated that instead of just one Nexus 2015 device, the company could launch two devices this year, including a Nexus tablet and a Nexus 5 2015 phone made by different OEMs. According to some reports, Huawei would manufacture the Nexus smartphone this year and LG would manufacture the tablet. It is also possible that LG would manufacture both the smartphone as well as the tablet, while Huawei would come out with budget variants of these devices.

There are also contradictory speculations about the Google Nexus 5 2015 release date, with some reports claiming that it could be launched in Q3, while others believe a Q4 launch to be more likely. Google has always launched a new Nexus smartphone towards the end of the year in line with the timing of its release of the next-gen Android OS. This makes it likely that the company plans to release the Nexus 7 sometime towards the later part of 2015.
