Nintendo gears up for the 30th anniversary of 'Super Mario Bros.' with exciting new game releases

(Nintendo)Nintendo is celebrating 30 years of its famous and well-loved video game series, Super Mario Bros.

Nintendo made its presence known during the recently held 2015 Gamescom. The company presented its line-up of new games coming soon to its Wii U and 3DS family systems. They also celebrated the past and showcased the company's history.

This concerted effort to showcase Nintendo's history is largely in part due to the upcoming 30th anniversary of the "Super Mario Bros." series. The first "Super Mario" was released back in Sept. 13, 1985. Nintendo officially launched the official anniversary website that showcases the colorful history of the "Super Mario" series.

In line with the 30th anniversary, Nintendo is also releasing Mario-centric games in the next few months, "Super Mario Maker," "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash" and "Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam."

"Super Mario Maker for the Wii U" was announced during Nintendo's E3 2015 digital event and will be released this coming Sept. 11.

According to GameSpot, "Super Mario Maker" is a creation tool video game. Players will be able to create their own Super Mario levels on the Wii U. They can also share their creations online for other players to try out.

The game features the ability to drag and drop items from different "Super Mario Bros." games. There is also a mystery mushroom that transforms Mario into different characters. "Amiibo" fans can unlock and choose to play their favorite characters.

"Amiibo" fans can also look forward to Nintendo's upcoming September release of new characters.

Nintendo also announced the upcoming "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for the Wii U." The game will be released sometime this Christmas.

Mario Tennis features classic tennis gameplay with beloved Mario characters but will also feature upgraded power-ups and better graphics.

According to Everybody Plays, players will have the option to utilize different buttons in the controller to play different kinds of shots and strokes. The Mega-mushroom power-up, which appears at random, also allows players to supersize their characters.

The game is for four players and is bound to lead to exciting and competitive gameplay.

Nintendo will also release "Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam for the Nintendo 3DS" this spring 2016.

"Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam" features gameplay that combines the elements of both "Mario & Luigi" and "Paper Jam."

The game features a fresh and unique gameplay. Players will see a mix of different graphics styles, 2D from "Paper Jam," and 3D graphics from "Mario & Luigi." The game also features a fun and unique story line.

According to Shack News, players will try to control the characters, take on various creatures and try to defeat different bosses.

The Legend of Zelda

Unfortunately, "The Legend of Zelda" fans may have to wait a little longer for the upcoming release of "The Legend of Zelda for Wii U." Nintendo execs were tight-lipped about the game and many are speculating that the game may not be released until 2017.

In the meantime, players can look forward to the release of "The Legends of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes for Nintendo 3DS" that is set to launch on Oct. 23.

According to GameSpot, the game allows multiple players to work together to solve puzzles and overcome dungeons. It is an online multiplayer game that lets you interact with up to three players. "The Legends of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" also allows players to unlock costumes which give the wearer unique abilities to help them advance in the game.

Nintendo fans have a lot of exciting new games to look forward to in the next few years.
