When Nintendo officially confirmed the existence of the then-heavily rumored Nintendo NX, it noted that the console won't be making its debut at this month's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). However, Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, had something interesting to share about the device during the recently concluded press conference.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Fils-Aime confirmed that the NX won't delve on the hardware aspect but will concentrate on content. "For us, it's not about specs, it's not about teraflops, it's not about the horsepower of a particular system. For us, it's about the content," he said.

While the company is confident about placing their focus on the content, some people think that the company won't fare well when the console comes out. As noted by Forbes, ignoring hardware specs to dwell more on content would only mean that what people have feared about the NX - that the device will get nowhere near the sales of the PlayStation Neo and Xbox Scorpio once they arrive - will soon be realized.

With weaker specs compared to its rivals, NX is also expected to have a lack of third-party support, just like its predecessors, the Wii and Wii U.

Launching in March 2017, the Nintendo NX will have "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" as its launch title. People were impressed by the game when it was showcased at E3, but there is still skepticism when it comes to what NX can bring to the table. Fans will just have to wait and see what surprises the NX can bring.

Meanwhile, a specific date of launch has not been announced but March is not so much of a long wait. Since Nintendo previously made it clear that an E3 reveal is not happening, the word now is that the device will probably be unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show in September this year.
