Nintendo has confirmed that it will hold a special event on Jan. 13 next year to reveal details about its upcoming gaming console, the Nintendo Switch. The event will be seen via livestream from Tokyo, Japan all the way to New York City, U.S., and questions regarding the hybrid console will be given clarifications.

Nintendo's five-hour presentation is especially intended for investors and members of the press. It is said that the price for the upcoming hardware will be announced at the event. Moreover, the official release date for the console will be made known for the first time. Up until now, what analysts and gaming enthusiasts have is the speculation that the Nintendo Switch will be available in the market by March 2017.

Several sources are speculating that the hybrid console's price might start at $250. The speculation was fueled when the Canadian toy company Toys R Us accidentally announced the console's starting price. In the United Kingdom, the console is expected to be priced at £200–£220. Nintendo remains mum regarding this piece of information, leaving fans no other choice but to wait for details that will be revealed at the company's January event.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the video game "Binding of Isaac Afterbirth Plus" created by Nicalis will be included in the Nintendo Switch. The game developer already initially announced that the game will be available in PS4, Xbox One, and another unrevealed console in 2017. Players are speculating that Nicalis might be referring to the Nintendo Switch.

Aside from the possibility of a Nicalis game, reports confirm that Chucklefish Games' farming game "Stardew Valley" will be included in the Nintendo Switch lineup of games after cancelling the Wii U version. In "Stardew Valley," players inherit a farm and become responsible in cultivating it. The game requires players to maintain a close relationship with other members of the town, which attracted a lot of fans.

Other games available in Nintendo Switch will most likely be announced on Jan. 13.
