Oklahoma City Thunder trade rumors 2016: Nuggets' Wilson Chandler a good fit?

The Oklahoma City Thunder could have no plans of acquiring a star to pair with the face of the franchise, Russell Westbrook. A role player might be enough for them and a candidate for this is Wilson Chandler of the Denver Nuggets.

Chandler is a small forward who will fill the void that Kevin Durant left in the team during free agency. The 29-year-old is not on the same level as "Easy Money Sniper," but he is a guy who can be effective on both ends of the floor.

Last season, Chandler averaged 13.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, with 1.7 assists per game. He was a starter for the Nuggets and a veteran leader.

For now, it seems the Thunder's main goal is to give Westbrook a supporting cast that would aid him in keeping them competitive. Chandler is a significant addition to that unit if they land him. As mentioned, he will not put up 30, 40, or even 50 points in games like Durant did but he is going to do the duties assigned to him, making life easier for Westbrook.

In a suggestion, the player the Thunder could send to the Nuggets for Chandler is Kyle Singler.

Singler is slowly becoming a regular in trade talks when the Thunder are involved. The forward can be a great role player to replace Chandler in Denver. However, he might not be enough for the Nuggets to let go of the veteran, and that is why a 2017 first-round pick is also included in the potential offer.

The Nuggets may agree to this since they are getting Singler who takes Chandler's place in the team, while also landing a top pick in next year's draft which allows them to select a prospect that can be a future star of the franchise. This also boosts their young core which has great promise.
