After giving up an easy one in Game 1, the Dallas Mavericks tied their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an 85-84 Game 2 victory last Monday and are seeking for a 2-1 lead in Game 3 tonight.

Game 2 was a tight contest all the way and referees even needed to review the last play before a winner was determined.

With the Mavs up 85-84 in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook attacked the rim but missed the shot. Forward Kevin Durant tried to tip it in but also botched the attempt. Good thing, center Steven Adams was there for the follow-up and made the basket. Unfortunately, the video showed Adams' hand still touching the ball when the buzzer sounded and the basket did not count.

It was a huge bounce back win for the Mavericks who were dominated in the series opener, 108-70.

Stepping up for Dallas in Game 2 was veteran point guard Raymond Felton who had 21 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Franchise superstar Dirk Nowitzki followed Felton with 17 points, while point guard Deron Williams, who was uncertain before Game 2 because of a sports hernia, contributed 13 points.

Center Salah Mejri was a surprise for the Mavs coming off the bench as he tallied 12 points, three rebounds, one assist, with three rejections.

Along with the momentum after a big win, the Mavericks also have now home court advantage for Games 3 and 4.

Meanwhile, for the Thunder, it was just not a good night especially for Durant, who went 7-of-33 from the field. This tied him with the great Michael Jordan for the most missed field goal attempts in a playoff game.

Despite the horrible feat, the 27-year-old still managed to finish with 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block.

Westbrook also had a bad shooting night versus Dallas in Game 2, going 8-of-22 from the field. Still, he had 19 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and two steals.
