Many tech enthusiasts, most especially the fans of the OnePlus handset, are probably excited for the much-awaited unveiling of the Chinese company's next mobile iteration, the OnePlus 3. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any update yet regarding this matter.

However, a new rumor has recently emerged claiming that there is a possibility that the manufacturer may unveil the handset by the end of April, according to reports. Do take note, though, that this information is not yet official.

Unfortunately, that's just another claim with no evidence to back it up. So far, though, the only semi-official release time frame that fans know is the end of second quarter 2016 unveiling that OnePlus CEO Carl Pei disclosed during his interview with CNET last February.

Sadly, Pei did not include any specific details for the OnePlus 3 like its launch date or even if the company will continue its purchase method of invite only.

Meanwhile, in terms of specifications, it seems like the OnePlus 3 will truly live up to its expectations as a much-improved handset compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 2.

According to the leaked AnTuTu benchmark listing last month reported by Gizmo China, the OnePlus 3, with a model name of OnePlus A3000, will sport a screen of 5.5 inches with a 1080p Full HD display resolution, which is actually the similar setup of the previous handset OnePlus 2.

The OnePlus 3 handset, based on the benchmark listing, will run on the latest Qualcomm chipset, Snapdragon 820, and it is going to be supported by 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which is still unknown if it can be expanded since the previous OnePlus 2 doesn't actually have a memory card slot.

Lastly, the handset is going to be equipped with a 16-megapixel lens for its main or back camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. It will run on the latest Android operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, right out of the box.
