'Pokémon Go' GPS hack shows how traveling inside the game can be done without leaving home

Numerous hacks aiming to make the experience of playing "Pokémon Go" just a bit easier and perhaps even more enjoyable have been engineered before, but now a new one utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) shows how exploring can still be done even without needing to leave home.

The hack works by utilizing fake GPS signals that communicate movement to the device being used to play the game, even though no actual movement is being executed by the player.

For folks interested, video of the GPS hack in action can be seen courtesy of the "jdsika" YouTube channel, and it has also been embedded below.

Admittedly though, pulling off the hack may not be so easy for all "Pokémon Go" players.

As seen in the video, players who want to replicate the GPS hack will need quite a few specialized tools that are not exactly commonly found in people's homes, so that right there may be a big stumbling block that could be tough to overcome.

Still, it's a little bit of engineering ingenuity in action, and going so far as to come up with such an elaborate hack for the augmented reality game shows just how passionate players are about "Pokémon Go."

In other news, it appears as though a new bug is currently causing some problems inside "Pokémon Go."

On the game's official website, developer Niantic confirmed that a new bug is currently impacting throwing accuracy inside the game. The aforementioned bug is particularly problematic because it apparently hikes up the odds that a Pokémon will escape being captured.

Furthermore, the bug also takes away an experience bonus, making it more difficult for players to level up quickly.

Niantic has already indicated that they are working on a fix for the issue, so "Pokémon Go" players will just have to hope that the bug is addressed sooner rather than later.
