Konami's football simulation game Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 (PES 2015) was released on Tuesday, and early reviews are mostly positive.

"PES 2015 is not only the best game the series has delivered for many years, it promotes and prioritises a form of football that is, welcomingly, very different to that of FIFA 15--and variety across games is never a bad thing," said Gamespot's John Robertson, who has given the title an 8 (Great) out of 10 (Perfect) score.

He lauded the developers for the depth of passing and movements, and the breakdown of the teams.

Nick Ackerman of Eurogamer felt that PES 2015 overtakes FIFA 15 this time around.

"FIFA and PES seem to have swapped shirts, with neither catering to the original audience they once set out to attract. Based on this year's offerings, though, it's PES that has the clearer direction of where it's headed," he wrote.

Ackerman gave the video game a rating of 9 out of the possible perfect score of 10.

Back in the PlayStation 2 era, PES dominated the charts. But, as the years passed, it has veered away from its "football magic," allowing the FIFA franchise to flourish.

PES 2015 is created to reclaim its lost glory, and Pinkerton of Metro thinks it might just have.

"A significant improvement on the last generation of Pro Evo games, and for the first time in years PES is more entertaining than the new FIFA," he exclaimed.

Ahead of its commercial launch, on Nov. 9, the game's develeoper released PES 2015 Day One DLC, which adds missing summer transfers, lineups, players' faces and the newest soccer cleats from Adidas, Puma and Nike. The pack also brought back Copa Sudamericana 2014.

Following its Nov. 11 release date, PES 2015 is available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
