"Red Dead Redemption 2" has consistently been a no-show at major gaming events throughout the year, much to the chagrin of many fans, but there may be a chance that the situation will finally change later this month.

Just recently, Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two Interactive revealed in a press release that the acclaimed game development studio is already working on "some exciting future projects."

Take-Two also noted that those aforementioned projects are on track to be "revealed soon."

Some fans have taken those somewhat vague statements to mean that a big game is coming sooner rather than later, and that one of those future projects could even be the long-awaited "Red Dead Redemption 2."

For now, both Rockstar and Take-Two are remaining mum when it comes to what those future projects actually are, though that anticipated reveal could take place sooner than most people expect.

Take-Two has already been confirmed as an exhibitor for this month's Gamescom event that will be taking place in Cologne, Germany, though it's still unclear exactly what the publisher intends to showcase at the upcoming event.

Rumors from the past few months have already hinted at the possibility that Take-Two could finally show off "Red Dead Redemption 2" at Gamescom, though as Game Debate has also noted, the publisher could showcase any number of different titles at the upcoming event, including games that have already been announced previously and already have set release dates.

Unfortunately again, Take-Two's immediate plans remain shrouded in mystery, so fans will just have to wait until Gamescom gets underway before they can find out for sure if the sequel they have been seeking is finally and officially in development, and whether they may be able to play it soon.
