Galaxy Note 4, Samsung's super tablet is tipped for a September release date according to rumors.

The launch of the new phablet is expected to take place during the pre-IFA 2014 event in Berlin, Germany, on September 3.

Days after the supposed announcement, the handset will be ready for market release, hopefully to alleviate Samsung's sluggish handset sales in the past few months.

According to ET News, the company will use the new and powerful device to sustain its brand presence in the market during the anticipated iPhone 6 launch by late third quarter or early fourth quarter of the year.

Galaxy Note 4 is expected to boast a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 resolution and 515 pixels per inch, 4GB of RAM, a 16MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization feature, 2MP front-facing camera, quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 450, Adreno 420 CPU and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has its work cut out for it, as its predecessor received only decent reviews from various industry pundits.

Ewan Spence of Forbes said, "There's nothing drastically wrong with the Note 3, it does the job it sets out to do, does it well, and while it might not stretch the phablet envelope, it does everything you expect it to do."

Reports on new devices coming out of Samsung's turf is no surprise as fierce rival Apple is already gearing up for the launch of iPhone 6.

The South Korean tech giant is also looking to boost profits that have seen a three-quarter consecutive decline, amid issues on mid-range smartphones and leadership succession.

Aside from Galaxy Note 4, Samsung is at the moment reportedly working on Galaxy Neo, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Tab 3 and Galaxy Mega 2.

Samsung Gear, which originally came paired with the Galaxy Note 3, is the company's bet to win the smartwatch category and was revealed during the last Google I/O developers conference.

Samsung Gear is set to go up against LG G Watch, Moto 360 and Apple iWatch later this year.
