The upcoming LG G3, a smartphone said to contend with Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, iPhone 5s and other big names in the smartphone department, recently got another image leak from tipster evleaks in its Twitter account, a few days ahead of the set May 27 launch.

The LG G2 follow-up is said to test Samsung's leadership in the smartphone market with some of its rumored killer specs, which as the launch date gets closer, become more widespread and realistic. LG's upcoming flagship phone is compared to Samsung's GS5 as follows:

Display and Camera

LG G3 is rumored to come in a 5.5inch IPS LCD screen that will be 2560 x 1440 resolution 538ppi. Samsung's GS5 comes in 5.1-inch Super AMOLED full HD screen, with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 432 ppi.

While the Galaxy S5 features a 16MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing cameras, G3 is rumored to have more or less of LG G2's cameras plus some enhancements. It will come with a 16MP rear-facing shooter, and if it keeps G2's front-facing camera, then, it will be a 2.1MP one.

The processor for G3 can be LG's own Odin, or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 in Adreno 330 GPU, which is similar to that of GS5.

Innovation and Features

It has been observed by tech pundits that Samsung has made less innovation recently. Its current flagship, the Galaxy S5, highlights only two main updates – the fingerprint scanner and the heart rate monitor.

According to Forbes contributor Ian Morris, the GS5 scanner is not as good as Apple's and has not impressed its users, including himself. The heart monitor is not accurate and being such, would have been better as non-existent, Morris added.

With regard to innovation, LG is said to be more generous than Samsung. Leaks hint that it is working on a new design in metal and a fingerprint scanner. The greatest part is, it will be the first smartphone to sport a quad HD screen, which will make it the best in detail and sharpness.
