Samsung's next handset, the Samsung Galaxy S7, is still quite far from the expected unveiling. Despite the fact that the phone is not due to be unveiled until March of next year, rumors and leaks have been quite active for the past few weeks.

First was the benchmark result of the CPU Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890, which was followed by the rumor which suggested that the device will come with dual front-camera and a magnesium alloy frame. Now, a new rumor suggests that the phone's screen is going to be protected by Turtle Glass instead of Gorilla Glass.

News about Samsung Galaxy S7 coming with Turtle Glass was first spotted on the South-Korean-based website, KBench, as reported by BGR. According to the translated news, it seems like the S7 is going to sport a new kind of screen protection technology.

Tech Radar reports that the Turtle Glass technology is going to be developed by Samsung and it is expected to be much stronger than the current one used by their devices which is Corning's Gorilla Glass.

If this is the case, then the partnership of Samsung and Corning could be jeopardized unless the Turtle Glass will only and specifically be used on the Samsung Galaxy S7.

News about the upcoming device using Turtle Glass coincidentally surfaced after Apple's initial announcement regarding the iPhone 6S. Apple said that the new iPhones will come with the most durable glass available in the smartphone market. In fact, Apple is now calling the phone's glass as "the world's strongest."

As of now, however, there is still no way to confirm the legitimacy of these rumors, especially since the development of the phone is still in its earliest stage. Needless to say, fans are advised to take this one with a pinch of salt and wait until Samsung releases an official announcement.
