Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 is happening on September 3, 2014, in three simultaneous cities: Berlin, Beijing and New York, around 9 a.m. ET, ahead of the annual IFA 2014 Consumer Electronics fair.

There is a big likelihood that Galaxy Alpha or the rumored Galaxy Note 4, both dubbed as iPhone killers, will be the cornerstone of the event.

According to Korea Times, an unnamed executive at Samsung's top-tier display supplier confirmed speculations that Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 will feature Galaxy Note 4.

The supposed specs of this new smartphone could very well steal the show: metal-clad 5.7" QHD Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, Snapdragon 805 chipset or an Exynos 5 Octa with 2.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and 16 MP rear-facing camera.

Wearables are also expected to be one of the talking points of the program, as stiff smartwatch competition lurks around the corner.

Aside from the new flagship smartphones and wearables, The Verge published an article that revealed an image of "virtual reality headset" that will also be launched during this pre-IFA 2014 affair.

The "Unpacked" events in the past have been the launch pad of some of Samsung's top-selling flagship devices.

Samsung Unpacked 2013 saw the introduction of Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear into the market.

The first leg of Samsung Unpacked 2014 that took place in February paved the way for the release of Galaxy S5, Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.

Samsung, the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world is starting to build its muscles again after consecutive quarters of profit declines, issues with child labor in China, late Android updates and looming launch of Apple's iPhone 6.

Reuters reported that Samsung Electronics has confirmed setting up a new massive factory in Indonesia to produce mobile phones for the company.

The South Korean firm has also renewed tie-up with Olympics as a top sponsor until 2020.

Live streaming via YouTube will be available for viewers around the world.
