San Diego Comic Con 2014 lineup: Geek out on big movie releases, video game launches

San Diego Comic-Con 2014 has just released the programming schedule for the four-day event that will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, and it includes the biggest names in Hollywood and video gaming realm.

From July 24 to 27, participants will be treated to everything about comics and platforms related to it.

To kick off the geek fest is The Wand Company revealing Star Trek: The Original Series Phaser Universal Remote Control, an exact replica from the original series and a fully functional remote control for entertainment system and IR-controlled devices.

Moving on to Hollywood, there are plenty to get excited about and there are also surprising omissions.

Mockingjay, Insurgent and Jurassic 4 are all absent from the panel lineup of this year's Comic-Con, disappointing fans of both Oscar Winner Jennifer Lawrence and Divergent's Shailene Woodley.

Dreamworks animation panel will preview the Madagascar spinoff entitled Penguins of Madagascar, Sony Pictures will present spooky series adaptation Goosebumps at the Indigo Hall on July 24.

Other movies to watch out for San Diego Comic-Con 2014 are sci-fi The Giver, Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Daniel Radcliffe's Horns, thriller Everly, Batman vs Superman, Warcraft Film, final Hobbit chapter Battle of the Five Armies and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Aside from Hollywood flicks, Comic-Con will also feature anticipated video gaming releases.

The Witcher 3 will debut at this year's Comic-Con with a 30-minute gameplay trailer.

Bioware is also hosting a panel for Mass Effect 4 and they are calling this event "Charting a Course: Developing the Mass Effect".

Ubisoft is also expected to grace the occasion with panels around upcoming games Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4.

Mass Effect's lead animator, producers, senior artists and community manager will all be there to facilitate the program.

Guillermo del Toro and his "Lego Batman 3" will be the highlight of the event's finale on Sunday. July 27.
