Seattle Seahawks roster news, rumors 2016: Russell Wilson to see action on Sunday versus Rams?

Seattle Seahawks franchise quarterback Russell Wilson is expected to play Sunday versus the Los Angeles Rams despite suffering a right ankle injury in their season opener win over the Miami Dolphins.

In the third quarter of Sunday's 12-10 victory against the Dolphins, Wilson sustained a sprain but he did not leave the game. The 27-year-old finished with 27 completions for 258 yards and one touchdown, also throwing one interception.

Because of what happened, some worried about Wilson's health and if he can play in Week 2's game against the Rams.

But it seems Wilson is doing well and is recovering fast as he participated in this week's practices.

In a recent report by ESPN, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll mentioned Wilson's attitude and how his main passer wants to prove himself.

Seattle's offensive coach Darrell Bevell also spoke about Wilson and stated, according to ESPN, "Right now, we're expecting him to be full go. And I don't think he has any different thoughts than that. He's amazing in his preparation. He's probably not even sleeping with all the rehab that he's doing. And I expect him to be ready to go."

On Thursday, Wilson sounded good to go for their game versus Los Angeles as he said via NFL.com, "I'll be ready to roll."

This is great news for the Seahawks and the fans because there is no major health scare for Wilson. Since being selected in the third round (75th overall) of the 2012 National Football League (NFL) draft, he is yet to miss a game for the organization, which is an impressive feat.

The Seahawks are off to a good start in the 2016 season and would want to keep that going. An injury to any key player is something they are avoiding because it jeopardizes their chances of having a successful run for the Super Bowl.
