There have been numerous rumors about Sony bringing out new devices in its smartphone lineup. These rumors were shored up recently when two upcoming smartphones from the company were spotted on a benchmark database.

According to reports, a GFXbench entry has two devices from Sony that were spotted with the F3311 and F3216 model numbers. As for the actual names of the devices, very little is known, but it is thought that both will have similar-sized displays measuring 4.6 inches. With the display size being smaller, it is a clear indication that both will be offered to people who are interested in buying a smartphone that can easily fit in their hands.

This means that the upcoming F3311 and F3216 models will be competing against similar small-sized models; however, going by the hardware, it is clear that they will be not taking on the premium iPhone SE. Coming to the specs on the Sony F3216, it has a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and its chipset is a MediaTek Helio P10 version, coupled with an octa-core CPU and a ARM Mali-T860 GPU. This clearly indicates that the upcoming smartphone is a midrange device and RAM is thought to be around 2 GB. The camera on this particular device drew a lot of interest when it was spotted on the listing on Geekbench with a 22-megapixel version at the rear and a 16-megapixel version for selfies.

As for the F3311, its listing reveals that it would be a cheaper version than the F3216 and come with weaker hardware. Importantly, the display is of the same size, but its quality is lower and it has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The chipset is expected to be a MediaTek MT6735 version, coupled with 1.5 GB RAM. As for the cameras, there is a 16-megapixel version at the rear and a 5-megapixel version in front.
