With August ending and the IFA 2015 due to kick off at the beginning of September, all eyes are on Sony as many expect the company to finally unveil its new flagship, the Xperia Z5 smartphone.

Several leaks about the Xperia Z5 and an Xperia Z5 Premium version have been emerging and the latest indicated that the bigger model will have a 4K screen.

The leaks about the Xperia Z5 have been arriving steadily over the past few weeks and the latest consisted of a video, which according to GSMArena, shows a marketing director of Sony discussing the features of the devices. A few days prior, leaked press renders also emerged and revealed the colors that the device would come in. However, it was not clear whether the images were of the Xperia Z5 or its sibling, the Xperia Z5 Compact.

The press renders pointed toward the existence of a 23 megapixel camera on the device and a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor. The images also hinted at the water and dust proof features of the device and indicated that the flagship, would at least, have an IP68 certification.

As for the leaked video, it provided several tantalizing bits of information about the three models; and they point toward the 23 megapixel camera being a common feature on all smartphones. Along with the camera is a fast focus speed of 0.03 seconds and the ability to take better pictures in low light conditions.

However, the big difference is going to be in their display sizes. The Verge stated that a 4.6-inch screen will be present on the Z5 Compact, a 5.2-inch on the flagship, Z5 and a 5.5-inch on the bigger Z5 premium. Importantly, with the 5.5 inch screen of the Z5 Premium having a resolution of 3840 x 2160 it would be the first smartphone ever to come with a 4K display and a density of over 800 pixels per inch.

Finally, the microSD slot on the device is expected to be waterproof even when it is uncovered.
