'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC news: Find out what's inside the upcoming 'Rogue One: Scarif' expansion

(Star Wars Battlefront official website)New expansion expected to be released for 'Star Wars Battlefront' next month

"Star Wars Battlefront" players can expect to see more additions coming to the game before the end of the year courtesy of the upcoming "Rogue One: Scarif" expansion pack.

The new expansion pack hasn't been fully fleshed out just yet, though details about some of its more notable additions are already known.

First off, similar to previously released downloadable content packs, "Rogue One: Scarif" will also introduce new characters.

The new characters are expected to be Jyn Erso and Director Orson Krennic. Not much is currently known about what kinds of special abilities Erso and Krennic will bring to the game, so fans will have to stay tuned for that.

Apart from the additional characters, the new expansion will also give "Star Wars Battlefront" players new maps to play around with.

At this point, the maps set to be included in the expansion haven't been detailed in full just yet, though they will likely prominently feature the planet known as Scarif.

In a recent post on the game's official website, developers noted that Scarif is a tropical planet.

Having a tropical planet as the potential backdrop for some new "Battlefront" maps could open up some interesting possibilities both for the developers and the players.

Similar to previously released expansions, "Rogue One: Scarif" is also expected to bring new Star Cards and weapons. New game modes will likely be added as well via the expansion pack.

Currently, developers have yet to announce an exact release date for the "Rogue One: Scarif" expansion pack, though it is expected to be made available sometime next month. Again, given how things have worked with previously released expansion packs, "Rogue One: Scarif" will likely be made accessible first to season pass owners.

More news about the "Rogue One: Scarif" expansion coming to "Star Wars Battlefront" should be made available soon.
