"Star Wars Battlefront" is one of the more anticipated games for the newer generation consoles. And perhaps one of the reasons for this is the previously announced Hero System.

During the E3 gameplay trailer of "Star Wars Battlefront," Electronic Arts gave gamers a sneak peek at Luke Skywalker's iconic character being playable in the game via the Hero System. Earlier this week, EA's Jamie Keen detailed how this system is going to work.

The Hero System in the upcoming action video game will allow fans to step into the shoes of iconic Star Wars Heroes or Villain including, Luke, Boba Fett and Darth Vader. This is a fun concept but it does come with a bit of a price.

Gamers will have to stumble upon a character pickup location (randomly spread on the game's 12 maps) before going into the Hero System. And when they do, they only have a limited time as a Hero or Villain. Ideally, said Keen, they can finish a whole match as Luke Skywalker (or any of the playable Star Wars characters) but reminded players that it is also "extremely unlikely."

They can spend time in the Hero System for two minutes to a maximum of five minutes. Also to be noted is the fact that being a Hero or Villain decreases a player's health, with time extensions for every enemy killed.

Even with all these downsides, though, players will most likely still opt to enter the Hero System because of the unique powers and moves that each Hero has. At the moment, only Luke Skywalker's had been detailed and they include Force Push and Saber Rush.

Keen also talked about how the game will show Luke's growth as a Jedi.

"His jump is based on a normal biomechanical jump, but it's augmented by the Force. You see this in the films as well, such as when he's jumping out of the carbonite pit or when he's training on Dagobah," he explained.

Check out the much-talked about Hero System and the numerous iconic characters when "Star Wars Battlefront" hits stores for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 17.
