Anybody who has ever been into fighting games know or even played at one point a "Street Fighter" title. Now the game is evolving, hitting newer platforms and creating newer characters. And for the latest iteration of the game, hitting Sony's flagship console next year, a brand-new character is being introduced.

Necalli, with his wild, lion-like mane, was first unveiled over the weekend at the EVO 2015 and is going to be playable for the Sony PlayStation 4 and PC versions of "Street Fighter V" when the game releases in spring of 2016.

Being the game's first original character, Necalli's background remains under cover but the trailer released via the official Street Fighter YouTube account shows that he is the perfect character for those who prefer a no-frills, hard-hitting gameplay. He makes ample use of his claws — he grapples, he claws, and he even creates quick attacks.

Manager Peter Rosas of the Capcom Community describes Necalli as "[possessing] a wide variety of savage, close range attacks, as well as a command grab, all with the goal of demolishing his foes."

The wild and animalistic, Necalli, will possess a culminated power V-skill that inflicts damage through an explosion created by pounding his fist on the ground. His torrent of power V-trigger creates a change in personality characterized by a change in hair color and allows new combos, as well as a new Critical Art. Capcom promises more details on Necalli's powers and background in due time.

"Street Fighter V" is not scheduled for release until March 2016 but is already in the beta phase and PS4 users can run the first beta for five days, starting this July 23.

Chun-Li, M. Bison, Nash, and Ryu will be playable from the start of the beta, while Birdie and Cammy will be available on July 25. The beta will be available for U.S. players who pre-ordered the game.
