"Bayonetta," from the game with the same title, and Corrin from "Fire Emblem," have been officially marked as the final DLC characters for one of the biggest Nintendo games ever, "Super Smash Bros 4," according to the report from Shacknews earlier last month.

Some fans were surprised when they heard the news that there will be no more DLCs coming to "Super Smash Bros 4." Luckily, though, game director Masahiro Sakurai has offered an explanation as to why they have decided to end the release of new characters for the game during his interview with Nintendo Dream.

"If we were to keep adding popular characters to 'Smash' as DLC, we'd eat up IPs in no time flat. Moreover, people's 'shock and awe' would gradually start to fade," Sakurai said, according to the translation made by Source Gaming. "If at some point in the future we had 100 characters in 'Smash,' adding the 101st character wouldn't have the same impact as new fighters have had up until now. In that sense, I feel now is the perfect time to close the curtains on development."

That being said, fans are now starting to fire up the rumor mill, speculating that the company might have already started their development for the next game, "Super Smash Bros 5."

However, since it is still too early to jump into the wagon, it is very ideal to take this one with a hefty amount of salt, and consider it as a mere rumor until proven otherwise.

In other news, Sakurai had also revealed that, at one point, he wanted to include Geno as a playable character in "Super Smash Bros 4." Players can actually play as Geno in the game but only in the form of a Mii costume.

The report did, however, mention that Geno might one day be added into the game due to its popularity. But sadly, this one is also pure speculation, and there's no guarantee that this will pan out, considering that the DLC characters for the game has already conluded.
