The hit action-fighting crossover game from Nintendo, "Super Smash Bros.," has been doing great in terms of units sold according to recent reports. Furthermore, the company's current gaming consoles, which are the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, are both becoming commercially successful and could become strong contenders in the console wars.

Just last month, the title has sold over two million copies of the game for its Nintendo Wii U platform while the game's Nintendo 3DS version has already exceeded the three million mark and these mentioned statistics were just from North America alone. In total, the combined global sales of "Super Smash Bros." for both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS has reached an outstanding 12.92 million copies sold, which is positive news on the part of Nintendo.

Moreover, the earlier reported consoles were also experiencing the same fate as figures that went out two months ago shows that units sold increased with an impressive 39 percent.

In recent years, Nintendo has been on a losing streak against consoles from Sony with its PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox. It seems that the series of console flops over the years has finally come to an end and the company hopes it stays that way, thanks to the huge success of the "Super Smash Bros." game franchise.

Meanwhile, "Super Smash Bros." melee was one of the featured games at this year's Evolution Fighting Championship (EVO) in Las Vegas where Elliot Carroza-oyarce from Canada, who went by the username "Ally," battled it out against Takuto Ono from Japan, who used "Kamemushi" as his username. The game was a best of three match-up in which "Ally" emerged as the grand champion in the "Super Smash Bros." event.
