'Tekken 7' release date more likely next year; fans await for game's arrival in the console platform

(Bandai Namco)Akuma from the "Street Fighter" series will enter the fray in "Tekken 7," which, according to reports, will be out early next year.

The "Tekken" fighting game series is considered to be one of the longest-running fighting games, and it's reported that it will be back for another round of intense action. Game developer Bandai Namco will be releasing another installment in the Tekken franchise dubbed as "Tekken 7." The said title was revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 almost two weeks ago, and fans can't wait to get their hands on it.

The game developer mentioned that the game will be released on different platforms around the first quarter of 2017. In an interview with PlayStation Blog, game director Katsuhiro Harada pointed out some reasons why the forthcoming game will be the fighting title fans need to look out for.

He said that their team wants to somewhat immerse the players into the game and still get hooked into it even if they're just watching cutscenes during gameplay.

As previously reported, the mad man Akuma, also known as Gouki in Japan of the "Street Fighter" franchise, will also enter the fray to bring more mayhem in the upcoming title. Harada explained that fans were a bit worried though that since Akuma can do long-range attacks, the character might gain an upper hand during a fight. However, he said that there are other characters in the game that also have similar moves like Devil Jin's laser beam.

Harada also mentioned of Rage mode that's divided into two classes. The first is the so-called Rage Drive, which is a series of connecting moves called combos that deal serious damage to other players. Meanwhile, Rage Art can be considered a game changer since it can be done when the player's character is running low on health.

Moreover, Harada also unveiled at this year's E3 the new characters in the growing roster of "Tekken" fighters. These include Claudio from Italy, the Brazilian Katarina, the Arab Shaheen, another Japanese combatant named Lucky Chloe, and Josie Rizal from the Philippines.

As mentioned, there's no definite date yet as to when "Tekken 7" will be released. However, reports say that it could be early 2017.
