It's been a decade since fans last saw the Parr family in "The Incredibles," and somehow, the animated film's sequel remains as one of the most anticipated from Disney.

At this point, production has kept mum about the details of the next movie but rumors about its plot and release date keep popping up from time to time. It is widely believed that "The Incredibles 2" will focus its story more on Parr family member Jack-Jack.

To recall, the original movie ended with the superheroes gearing up to heed their calling and be protectors against evil. Jack-Jack, who was thought to be just a normal infant, was discovered to also possess superhuman abilities.

Fast forward to several years later, Jack-Jack is all grown up now and it has also been speculated that he will be a villain in the next movie. Rumors are rife that as Jack-Jack discovers more about his powers, he will slowly transition to villainy, considering he still can be manipulated into thinking that way. It was also rumored that whoever the new main antagonist will be, he will train Jack-Jack and teach him to do evil.

On the other hand, another rumor surfaced suggesting that the middle child Dash will turn to the dark side. Since the original movie, the Parr family had to lie low and hide their powers from regular human beings. It was reported that for this very reason, Dash will eventually get tired about all the hiding that he will lash out and form a sibling rivalry with Jack-Jack.

These could be possible plotlines, but none of them has been confirmed by Disney. What's certain for now is that the Parrs will definitely be a family of superheroes, according to "Finding Dory" director Andrew Stanton in a recent interview with iO9.

For now, plot rumors should be treated accordingly and fans will just have to wait for further updates. "The Incredibles 2" currently has a pegged release date of June 2019.
