CD Projekt Red has recently released the details of the two upcoming, story-heavy expansions for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" including the number of hours of gameplay and the file size of the two add-ons.

In an interview with GameReactor, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said that the DLCs will have a new storyline but will still have the right elements from the original.

"The expansion packs will be whole new storylines with all the elements you've got in the main story (like cutscenes, new characters, new items, new Gwent cards) and many, many more," Tomaszkiewicz told GameReactor.

As for how long it will take for players to complete these two expansions, the game director has stated that, in the first expansion, "Heart of Stone," the story will offer about 10 hours of gameplay, as said on GameSpot. The second one, "Blood and Wine," will have around 20 hours of play.

Because of these long hours of gameplay, Tomaszkiewicz pointed out that the file size might be bigger than any other DLCs. He even compared it to "The Witcher 2" and explained in the same interview with GameReactor, "I think it's possible that they will be bigger, because it's always like this (that when we plan some time or hours, it's twice or something like this), but I'm not promising anything right now. And even now, if you sum up this 10 to 20 hours and you compare it to The Witcher 2, it's almost the size of The Witcher 2."

Despite the large file size, the director assured everyone that this new storyline will be interesting and will have an emotional impact to the player. Tomaszkiewicz said that the game, "will be cool, it will be new stories, it will be very emotional stories and I think that people will be happy."

The specific release date of these DLCs are still unknown but according to GameReactor, the first DLC is expected to be launched this autumn while the second one, "Blood and Wine," is said to be released early 2016.

As mentioned on the website, the developers are still making some improvements on the add-ons, which is probably the reason why they might not be able to release the DLCs sooner.
