Former NFL player Tim Tebow has been in the headlines recently, linked to politics and a potential return to professional football. Most of those are nothing more than rumors for now, but there is one event that the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner will be in – the 10th Annual Benefit which takes place on June 25.

Such was announced by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce revealing that Tebow will be the guest speaker at the event which will be held at the McMinn County High School.

Word about Tebow's visit went out as early as last year from the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, despite the fact that Tebow played for one of the University of Tennessee's fiercest rivals. He is considered a lot like Peyton Manning by Chamber president and CEO Rob Preston, citing his strong Christian beliefs and one of the few guys not afraid to share that publicly.

It technically marks the second time that the university would invite a rival personality. The first one was University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban, an invite that went as far as drawing death threats. Tebow's selection is however expected to be a lot different.

Also, it will not be the first time that a Tebow will speak at the annual event. Tebow's mother Pam was invited as well in the past, speaking at a banquet hosted by Full Circle Women's Services.

Tebow's long list of accomplishments makes him the perfect guest speaker for the event. Among his causes include that of putting up the Tim Tebow Foundation back in 2010, aside from his various charity work covering the United States and the Philippines.

Tickets to the event are priced at $50 and can be purchased via the chamber's official website. Tebow appends a list of past speakers that include Steve Spurrier, Bruce Pearl, Pete Rose, Kirk Cameron, Lou Ferrigno, Herschel Walker and Peyton Manning.
