Tim Tebow news: 'TebowTime' petition continues to grow strong

In a previous post, the signature campaign aimed at bringing back Tim Tebow to the Denver Broncos was at 2,800. With the days that have passed, the clamor for 'TebowTime' has been growing larger.

The increase in signatures is obvious, seeing how the Broncos will have to try and make do with Mark Sanchez for now. While the Broncos were able to draft quarterback Paxton Lynch following a deal with the Seattle Seahawks that allowed them to move up to the 26th pick, the team still seems to be far off from having an authentic starter at quarterback.

As mentioned before, Tebow is not exactly perfect. He was sorely criticized for his pass completion rate despite the fact that he had his moments in Denver. That time came when he led the team in the playoffs in 2011 following an upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

When his play deteriorated, Tebow was never given the proper opportunity to prove his worth from thereon. After being released by the Philadelphia Eagles last year, he has spent most of his time on his causes and charity work.

With the scenario right now different for the Broncos, it could be an option. With respect to Sanchez, Tebow did at one time prove his worth and fans believe that he deserves another look for a team that is in dire need of help.

The Broncos find themselves with a glaring quarterback hole following the retirement of Peyton Manning and the loss of Brock Osweiler. They do have Sanchez and now Lynch, though Bronco fans want someone they know who can make a difference.

Ironically, that is Tebow's battle cry outside the NFL with his causes. Given a chance to be a quarterback once again, will John Elway or Gary Kubiak listen? Right now, the nearest thing that could happen is to perhaps try out Tebow and see if he can be better than Sanchez or Paxton as a starter. If not, well, at least the Broncos gave him the chance.
