Update 2.3, otherwise known as the latest patch for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege," is now available to download for all players.

The update was initially made available for the game's PC port on March 30 and was then tentatively scheduled to be released for consoles a few days later on April 5, but the rollout was delayed after a few issues were spotted.

Ubisoft was able to provide a quick fix for the update on PCs, but the launch of the patch for consoles had to be moved out of the tentative April 5 date.

Since then, update 2.3 has been released for all of the game's platforms, although another minor issue related to matchmaking popped up, but that too has since been resolved, as announced on the game's official Twitter account.

The newest update for "Rainbow Six Siege" is making a number of changes to some of the operator-specific weapons inside the game.

For instance, Buck's Skeleton Key has been given additional environmental destruction power in order to make it more useful inside the game.

Frost's Super 90 Shotgun has also been tweaked in order to make her complete arsenal not as overpowered as it had been before.

Other aspects of the tactical shooter, such as hit registration and matchmaking, have also been addressed by the latest update, according to a post on the game's official forums.

Meanwhile, "Rainbow Six Siege" players waiting for an announcement regarding the game's next expansion will have to stay on hold for a while longer.

As outlined in the game's roadmap, the next expansion will be a US-based content drop that adds two new operators and one map along with other items.

Ubisoft has yet to announce an exact release date for the next expansion, though it is expected to arrive within the second quarter of 2016.

Two more expansions for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" are also expected to be released in the second half of the year.
