Top features of Google Nexus 6P

(Google)Nexus 6P

After a ton of leaks, the Nexus 6P was unveiled by Google on Sept. 29 along with its smaller and cheaper sibling the Nexus 5X, which has been manufactured by LG. Here are the top features in the metal clad Nexus 6P, which has been manufactured by Huawei.

Design

The design of the Nexus 6 has been improved tremendously and while last year's Nexus 6 was bigger, it came with a metal frame and plastic on its front and rear. This time, however, Google choose to go with a full metal body that gives it a premium look and feel and this is highlighted by TechnoBuffalo. Even the broad plastic bar at the rear of the device, which houses the camera and creates a protrusion all along the top gives the device a bit of novelty, which many other much costlier phablets lack.

Quick charging

Even though the Nexus 6P does not have wireless charging it has quick charging enabled. Therefore, plugging in the phablet for 10 minutes will result in it having enough of charge to last 7 hours. Importantly, Google stressed that the phablet will charge twice as fast as the iPhone 6 Plus.

Fingerprint sensor

According to KnowYourMobile, now there is a fingerprint sensor on the device and it is billed as Nexus Imprint. With the inclusion of this feature for the first time on the Nexus lineup, it is widely expected that Google will be using it for a number of purposes. Right now, however, users can make use of fingerprint technology when signing into the Google Play and even Android Pay, which the device supports.

USB-C charging

The inclusion of a USB 3.0 Type C charging port on the Nexus 6P indicates that soon this will soon become a standard in smartphones. Interestingly, in the Nexus 6P, the port is a reversible Type C. This means that users will have to only employ the charger that is provided, as other micro-USB versions are not compatible.
