Top iPhone 6 Plus tricks and tips to get more from the device

(Apple)iPhone 6 Plus

The iPhone 6 Plus was Apple's first attempt at a phablet and since its release, it has garnered a huge amount of fans who have been captivated not only by its design but also its features. Here are some of the iPhone 6 Plus' top tricks and tips.

Reachability

With its dimensions increased, it is no secret that the iPhone 6 Plus is now difficult to use with a single hand. However, by simply double tapping the home button, the top of the screen drops down and apps can easily be reached with one hand.

Zoom View

Both the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus have this feature. The zoom view allows for the icons on the screen to be displayed in "zoom" mode. To turn this on, just simply head over to Settings > Display & Brightness > View and select Zoomed.

One Handed Keyboards

The ability to use third party keyboards is available for the iPhone 6 Plus, though they have to be purchased. One major advantage of such keyboards, however, is that users will be able to do all their typing with one hand.

Track Steps

The iPhone 6 Plus can also be used as a fitness device. There are sensors that track the number of steps one walked and climbed, as well as other health related information. To check this app, one simply goes to the Health Data > Fitness and choose what you want to be shown on the dashboard of this particular app.

Personalize Vibration Alerts

Using the Tap out and save a new vibration function, you can create customized vibration alerts for people on your contact list. To set this up, navigate to Settings > Sounds > Tap on Ringtone > Vibration > Create New Vibration.

Mirroring the display

When playing a video game on your iPhone 6 Plus, you can choose to mirror the display on a bigger screen. However, one will need an Apple TV to set this feature up.

Take calls on iPad or Mac

If the iPhone 6 Plus has been upgraded to the iOS 8.1, one can go ahead and take calls using their Mac or iPad. But to activate this feature, the Mac needs to be running the X Yosemite operating system.
