Game developer Naughty Dog has recently released a blog post giving fans of the "Nathan Drake" video game franchise an update on the upcoming and final game in the series, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."

In the blog post written by directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, it was revealed that the team was already wrapping up production on the highly anticipated game.

Unfortunately, the game's directors also revealed that the game's release date will be pushed back by a month. "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will now be released on April 26, 2016. On this day, "the most ambitious installment in the 'Uncharted' series will be in your hands," read the post.

The delay was a difficult choice to make but was necessary in order to meet Naughty Dog's standards and vision. As final deadlines were approaching, game developers realized that certain sequences needed additional time to be accomplished. Thus, in extending the schedule, the production team will be able to release the proper send-off for Nathan Drake and his loyal fans.

"To you, our loyal fans, we hope you'll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake's final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer," said Druckmann and Straley.

In "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," Nathan Drake will be embarking on his last adventure. Nathan's long lost brother, Sam, reappears and asks for his help in solving a conspiracy related to hidden pirate treasures. In order to help his loved ones, Nathan comes out of retirement and must overcome his physical limitations.

Druckman previously revealed that the release of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be the end of an era for Naughty Dog. Thus, the team is hard at work in order to provide players with the best possible version for the beloved game.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be released for the PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2016.
