"Watch Dogs 2" is slated to release in November and developers recently shared details of how the game came to be.

A video from Ubisoft explained how the game was inspired by real-life situations involving hacktivism and hacker culture. "Watch Dogs 2" senior producer Dominic Guay shared how the team decided to explore more on hacktivism when it was developing protagonist Marcus Holloway and the hacking team DeadSec.

Ubisoft wanted to stay true to the hacker culture so it even consulted their community, which even collaborated with the development team. Guay highlighted that hacktivism does exist in the hacking community as there are hackers or hacktivists who want to expose sensitive information that they know they're the only ones holding.

The game appears to be intriguing but it remains to be seen how it's going to fare in the industry.

More details about the game are expected to be revealed at the upcoming Gamescom 2016, which will run from Aug. 17 to 21. "Gamescom is a key moment for the industry and for our teams. The show gives us the opportunity to put our games into thousands of players' hands and get their feedback to make them even better," Alain Corre, Ubisoft's EMEA executive director, said.

"Watch Dogs 2" lets players take control of the new character Marcus, who will be on a quest to clear his name after being framed by a city surveillance system. The protagonist will work with hacking team DeadSec in order to save himself, as well as other innocent San Francisco residents, from the corrupted system.

The upcoming game introduces Marcus to be a more-equipped hacker who can control the different types of technology he can get his hands on. Besides his hacking abilities, Marcus can also rely on his parkour moves and some weapons to take down his enemies.

"Watch Dogs 2" will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 15.
