CD Projekt Red, the developer and publisher of the critically-acclaimed open-world adventure game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," recently announced the upcoming massive patch for the game, which is said to fix the performance problems in the PlayStation 4 platform.

CD Projekt Red's community manager Marcin Momot recently confirmed that Patch 1.09 for is now "on the way." He added on the official post that this patch is a massive one and it will address some improvements in the PlayStation 4 performance as well as for the other platforms.

"Was just looking at the changelog and it looks really impressive - the list of changes is massive," Momot wrote on the game's official forum. "The update will bring a lot of fixes and improvements including PS4 performance (as well as other platforms) plus many more. We ask for a bit more patience."

As for the estimated time of arrival of Patch 1.09, the community manager did not mention any specifics. However, he did tease fans that they are "working to have it posted as soon as possible but it won't happen before October."

According to GameSpot, there's a good chance that Patch 1.09 for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" could be released sometime this month and it could also coincide with the launch of the game's first massive expansion, "Hearts of Stone."

However, the release along with "Hearts of Stone" is still not confirmed and just pure speculation. So for now, it would be best to just wait for another announcement from the developer on when they will officially release the patch, including the patch log for the game if there will be some major fixes in terms of a more stable framerate on the PlayStation 4, as what fans have pointed out in the forum.
