The first season of MTV's mystery thriller 'Eye Candy' aired its season finale earlier this week, and while the episode answered the question of who Lindy's mystery serial killer is, it also opened up future storylines with a few unanswered questions. For one thing, viewers discovered that Lindy's abducted sister Sara has actually been the one trying to protect Lindy.

Eye Candy's executive producer Christian Taylor would later explain, in an interview at TV Line, that the surprise twist is actually part of a bigger storyline that will be explored in a future season. Taylor hinted that the entire thing is related to Lindy and Sara's father.

With regards to Lindy and Tommy's relationship, Taylor explained that the two are still at odds. He did add that he is excited to explore their relationship further should a second season materialize but gave no indication as to whether they would become a couple.

Speaking of second seasons, not all is well for the future of 'Eye Candy'. Reviews for the show have been mixed, with some critics praising lead actress Victoria Justice and her performances but adding that Justice is somewhat miscast in this type of genre. Justice was previously a mainstay at Nickelodeon where she starred in kid friendly television shows such as 'Victorious' and 'Zoey 101'.

So far MTV has yet to reveal whether the series will be renewed for a second season. The show has thus far had mediocre ratings and will most likely need a massive fan campaign to save the show. This kind of fan effort, while not the most influential factor to network executives, is still something that can't hurt a show's renewal chances. Whatever the case, all 'Eye Candy' fans should lend whatever support they can muster and just hope for the best.
