Google's latest operating system, the Android Nougat, has recently released its last in a series of beta phases made available to the public. The final version of the OS will be ready by next month, which gives Nexus users some sort of a hint as well that the long-awaited Google Nexus 2016 will be unveiled in the same month.

The handsets codenamed "Sailfish" and "Marlin" have been making quite a buzz lately. It was also reported that Taiwanese company High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) was chosen by the search engine giant once again to help create these forthcoming smartphones.

Moreover, the tech website, Android Police has featured their rendition of what the upcoming phone could look like based on how their source described it. The website's render has a glossy finish on the upper half of its back panel and a matte metallic look on the lower portion of the phone with a "G" at the bottom.

There were also rumors that some stores and online retailers are giving away huge discounts to the current and old Google Nexus phones in the market, most especially with the Google Nexus 6 which was unveiled a couple of years ago, not to mention the earlier reported release of Android Nougat's last beta phase.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, between the two upcoming phones, the Google Nexus M1 or "Marlin" is said to be the high-end version compared to the "Sailfish." It will have the final version of the new Android OS, a central processing unit (CPU) containing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4 GB of random access memory and at least 128 GB of memory space. In addition, the phone's graphics processing unit (GPU) will have the Adreno 530 chip. The device will also don a 12-megapixel camera on its back panel and an 8-megapixel front camera. The next generation Nexus phones will also have the USB Type-C port.

In the meantime, Nexus users and would-be users can check with Google for the latest news about the two new phones that they'll be dishing out most probably this August.
