"Grand Theft Auto VI," or "GTA VI," continues to be a hot topic in the gaming community since a lot of its fans are looking forward to the game's release. Unfortunately, developer Rockstar Games has not shared any update regarding the release of the next car racing-themed video game.

Rockstar may not have said anything about the game's existence and a release date, but it doesn't stop rumors from circulating. For several months now, a female protagonist has been rumored to be part of the installment. According to Neurogadget, some fans were disappointed by the lack of a female character in the game franchise. They've been hoping that Rockstar will incorporate this change in the next game.

The rumor started when Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser hinted in a 2013 interview with The Guardian that it's possible that a lead character will be featured in one of their franchises.

"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about," Houser told the news outlet. Although he didn't specifically mention that the possible female protagonist would be for "GTA VI," fans are hanging on to the hope that it would be the next move from Rockstar.

On the other hand, fans are also hoping that that "GTA V's" character setup, in which the game has three playable characters who can be switched, will be retained in the next installment. WhatCulture noted that this feature is one of the best things about "GTA V" and it is presumed that the setup can help in the future release.

The game's location is also a favorite subject of speculations, with fans believing that it will be set in the United States. The map is said to be larger than the maps found in the current game.

"GTA VI" appears to be heavily rumored, but all these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt until Rockstar has the official announcement.
