Game developers and publishers can be cruel in that they announce a very exciting game that entices gamers and then hold off on announcing a release date. Those who have been excited about Hello Games' "No Man's Sky" since its unveiling in 2013 surely knows the pain. Hopefully, with Hello Games' founder's numerous guestings, they will finally get an exact release date to pin on their calendars.

October seems like such a monumental time for Hello Games, and in turn, for "No Man's Sky" fans. Sean Murray, the man behind Hello Games' founding, had been invited to two very popular platforms and will be doing a fresh new demo of the independent adventure survival game.

One of his appearances will be on "The New Yorker" on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Murray will be sitting down with Raffi Khatchadourian, who has previously written about the upcoming game and even raved about its expansive universe. What's good about this appearance is that Khatchadourian had pointed out how "No Man's Sky" is everybody's game, even the non-hardcore gamers.

But perhaps what's really exciting for fans of the indie title is Murray's appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Oct. 2. The game developer will be showing a gameplay demo, together with YouTube sensation PewDiePie. While that is all that everyone knows of the guesting, gamers cannot help but pray that it is also the same day that Murray will announce the game's release date.

After all, this surge in "No Man's Sky" appearances on various shows might just indicate that fans are inching closer to a release. The game had been in development for a long time and, despite bumps along the road, two years is a long enough wait for gamers.

"No Man's Sky" is expected for the Sony PlayStation 4 and the PC. Stay tuned for more updates.
