Samsung has scheduled the announcement of the Galaxy Note 4 release date for September 3 at a pre-IFA event in Germany, according to Korea Times.

"Samsung will hold an event to announce the Note 4 on Sept. 3, just few days before this year's IFA trade fair in Berlin, Germany – Europe's biggest technology exhibition," an executive at Samsung's top-tier display supplier said by phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is said to be the South Korean tech giant's answer to Apple iPhone 6 when it comes out eventually and the well-reviewed LG G3 with QHD-display.

The company is facing profit losses and leadership insecurity as Samsung's CEO marks his third month in the hospital.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch curved OLED display, 1440 x 2560 resolution with 515 pixels per inch (ppi), 4GB RAM, 16MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization feature, 2MP front-facing camera, quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 450, Adreno 420 CPU and be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

"Samsung Note 4 will have far better specifications than the Galaxy S5 smartphone," said Samsung's Electro-Mechanics Chief Financial Officer Kwon Young-noh recently.

Another statement confirmed earlier reports that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be equipped with UV sensors.

"The Note 4 will be the first smartphone to incorporate an ultraviolet sensor. The sensor can measure UV radiation and offer index levels to Note 4 users inside the 'S Health' application," said an executive at Samsung's software partner based in Korea.

The IFA – Consumer Electronics Fair 2014 will be held this year at the Exhibition grounds at Funkturm, Messedamm in Berlin, Germany, from September 5 to 10.

There will be more than 1,200 exhibitors from 32 countries participating at the event.
