'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' news: Lex Luthor details revealed in mock Fortune profile
The cat has been out of the bag for months: Jesse Eisenberg is playing Lex Luthor on "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Now, fans get to know more details about how the American actor attacks such an iconic DC character.
Fortune has just posted a profile on Alexander Luthor Jr. as he appears in the upcoming film. The profile proudly announces that Eisenberg's character is "Not just his father's LexCorp."
According to the profile, Lex is 31 years old (not far from the actor's own age of 32) and is a bit of a "wunderkid." He successfully earned this title by turning the fate of LexCorp from being an old-time dinosaur to a Fortune 500 tech darling. It was a "superhuman feat," the article points out.
In case anyone missed, this Lex Luthor may not be the same Lex Luthor everybody has known and loved throughout the years. It seems Eisenberg is portraying a younger, slightly different Luthor. That does not mean, though, that fans will be seeing Lex Sr. in the movie. He is dead, that much the profile makes clear. But the son has much praise for the father.
"Dad named the company after himself ten years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life. But investors seemed to respond to the idea of an adoring father building a legacy for his precious son. He used that to his advantage. It was a good shtick and, whatever else he was, he was a good businessman," the profile reads.
But aside from clearing the air as to who Lex Luthor is in the movie, what else is there to note in the mock profile? To some DC fans, the mention of not just Wayne Industries (expected) but also Kord Industries has caused a happy alarm. This makes recent Booster Gold and Blue Beetle movie news so much more viable.
In the meantime, there are only a few months to go before the release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The DC movie hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
