(Viz Media)"One Punch Man" has officially been renewed for a second season.

"One Punch Man" season 2 has been confirmed to be in production. According to an anime and games translator, the next season of the action anime hit is in progress, but the exact date when it will be released has yet to be announced.

Translator Ken Xyro said in his Twitter account that the arrival of "One Punch Man" season 2 was confirmed through an advertisement. Xyro translated the Japanese texts found in the ad and it said that season 2 "is in progress." He added that the texts also mentioned that the exact date has yet to be announced.

Last year, the cast of "One Punch Man" — including Makoto Furukawa, Kaito Ishikawa, Yuki Kaji, Saori Hayami and Aoi Yuki — were reunited in a Fall Festival event along with the series song performers JAM Project and Hiroko Moriguchi. The group confirmed the second season of the TV super hero anime, Crunchyroll reported.

"One Punch Man" season 2 left off after Saitama was able to defeat the largest sea monster in Z City and finally got credit and respect for his powers. There are reports that Saitama will have a few obstacles in season 2, including possibly facing Lord Boros in a fight. This villain is so strong that Saitama might end up losing his power and may face his first ever defeat. Aside from Lord Boros, Garou and Amai Mask may also challenge Saitama.

A sinister Monster Association will be searching for Saitama and will try to defeat him. This group aims to destroy all members of the Hero Association and has heard of Saitama's great strength. It is said that Garou will seek the help of the Monster Association to crush Saitama.

"One Punch Man" anime was based on a Japanese superhero adventure and parody comic created by an author named "One." The webcomic was published in 2009 and quickly went viral with more than 7.9 million hits in 2012, according to Anime News Network. The series is all about a man named Saitama who has unbelievable strength; he trained very hard and because of this, he can defeat any enemy with just one punch

Cover art for the new "One Punch Man" volume 13 was also previewed. The latest volume in the series will be available in Japan on April 4.
