The "Big Bang Theory" has seen many changes in the lives of its cast this season 9, and one of the characters who might be going through something different in her life will be Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco.

The major change in question will be more in Penny's professional life. Over the years, fans of the "Big Bang Theory" has seen how Penny has struggled as a waitress, working at the Cheesecake Factory to supplement her income in order to pursue her dream as a Hollywood actress.

However, all she has accomplished so far are a series of small-time roles which have left her disappointed. This led her to make a decision to quit acting and to join the pharmaceutical company of her old friend, Bernadette, played by Melissa Rauch.

After working there for the most part of season 8, "Big Bang Theory" executive producer Steve Molaro told Entertainment Weekly that Penny might reconsider going back to acting once again. Molaro said that while she is is making good money at the pharmaceutical company, she does not love it.

Meanwhile, the "Big Bang Theory" is bringing in another surprise by finally introducing Leonard's (Johnny Galecki) dad, who will be played by award-winning Judd Hirsch. Hirsch's character will be an anthropologist.

For those who are not aware, Hirsch has been a constant presence on television as Alex Reiger in the sitcom, "Taxi." He was also the lead star in "Dear John" and "Regular Joe." Other shows that he has been involved in include "George & Leo" in the late 90s, "Maron" which will have new episodes this coming season, and "The Goldbergs" which will be in its fourth season.

The "Big Bang Theory" episode 19 will return on Thursday, March 31 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS after taking a quick break to give way to the NCAA championships.
