The final episode of FOX's crime procedural drama series "Bones" is slated to air on Tuesday next week. Will Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) get to Mark Kovac (Gerard Celasco) before he could wreak havoc?

As revealed in the synopsis for the series finale, titled "The End in the End," the team will continue the search for Kovac. They, however, have to do this without Brennan, who is experiencing a minor setback.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Michael Peterson teased the final episode of the series. He said, "Things are dire. They're going to get worse before they get better. But ultimately, have faith. We will hopefully wrap it up in a way that'll be satisfying. But hold on to your hats."

To recap, the anthropologist was one of the people injured during the Jeffersonian bombing incident. But as teased in the synopsis, she will be up on her feet eventually.

When the team learns that Kovac has had help from other parties and has managed to secure a hideout, Bones and Brennan will team up, for the last time, and bring Kovac to justice.

Boreanaz directed the penultimate, as well as the series finale of "Bones."

In the penultimate episode of the show, titled "The Day in the Life," the well-loved characters of the series each had their own moment in the spotlight. The episode, which opened with a glimpse of the impending doom, was a series of flashbacks from Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo's (Pej Vahdat) wedding, leading up to the moment the bomb detonated.

According to the showrunner, they actually thought about unleashing the bomb on the wedding day, but they just played with that, and teased fans of the show. Instead, they built up tension, and started the drama a day after the festivities.

The 12th and final episode of "Bones" season 12 will air on Tuesday, March 28, on Fox at 9 p.m. EDT.
