'Chicago Fire' season 4 episode 16 spoilers: Casey reconsiders his bid to be alderman; no witnesses willing to come forward in a fire-related crime
Episode 15 was shaping up to be a battle between Firehouses 21 and 51 when a case involving a hurt firefighter turned out to be something more. Luckily, Severide (Taylor Kinney) was able to resolve it, with a little help from Rodney Ogle, the EMT who was temporarily assigned to the house following Chili's (Dora Madison) termination. 51 also welcomed a new member, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), who quickly made herself at home. Meanwhile, Casey (Jesse Spencer) had a little taste of politics when he received his veiled threats during his first campaign rally.
The seasoned firefighter will apparently experience more of the same in episode 16. According to a synopsis for the episode, titled "Two Ts," Casey's campaign to be alderman hits a stumbling block when a citywide propaganda attack is launched against him. The ensuing hate that's directed at him will reportedly cause Casey to think about whether he wants to continue his campaign or not. Meanwhile, his team responds to a call and finds a man trapped inside a burning car. While there's evidence the car might have been set on fire intentionally, no one is saying anything.
This was clearly seen in a recently released trailer for the episode which begins with a car on fire. Casey and the others discover there's a man inside the burning vehicle and are seen trying to get him out. Several people are milling around and watching Casey and his team. The lieutenant asks a man if he knows what has happened but he and the others remain quiet.
The casual disregard of the incident by the people in the scene is disturbing and one that would undoubtedly frustrate the firefighters. But it remains to be seen whether Casey and the others can do anything about it since it's not their job to go around interrogating or arresting people.
But Jimmy (Steven R. McQueen) and Brett (Kara Killmer) might just break that rule as it's also been reported that the two will take "a kidnapping investigation into their own hands."
"Chicago Fire" season 4 will air a new episode on Feb. 23 on NBC.
