'Criminal Minds' season 11 spoiler: Aisha Tyler's character introduced in promo for episode 1; latest Unsub paints victims' faces
When the month ends, the TV Behavior Analysis Unit returns to CBS for season 11 of "Criminal Minds." And as early as episode one, the new season promises more twisted cases and more bizarre cases. The latest 30-second teaser reveals as much.
"Criminal Minds" has seen a lot of its lead females leave the show — Elle Greenaway (Lola Glaudini) in season two, Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) in season seven, Dr. Alex Blake (Jeanne Tripplehorn) in season nine, and just recently, Kate Callahan (Jennifer Love Hewitt) in season 10. But every time someone leaves, someone else is bound to enter and help the team in solving crimes. In the new season, it's going to be psychologist Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler). And she gets one heck of an introduction in the season 11 premiere.
TVLine posted the latest promo teaser for the pilot episode of "Criminal Minds" season 11. In the episode, the team is going to face a weird unsub that marks the faces of his victims in what looks like black-and-white paint. The clip prompts, "It's a season premiere so twisted, so bizarre, it will take a brand new mind to help solve the case."
And that brand new mind is going to be Tyler's character, who explains in the teaser that she wants to catch the bad guys instead of merely studying them after they are caught.
Showrunner, Erica Messer, tells more about the new season, "This UnSub does some, obviously, weird stuff to his victims, which includes painting their faces. And then we learn why he's doing it, because he himself has a really hard-to-look-at face."
The rest of the BAU returns for the new season: Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), and tech analyst, Penelope Garcia (Kristen Vangsness). A.J. Cook returns as Jennifer Jareau returns after her maternity leave.
Watch the team once again when "Criminal Minds" returns to CBS on Sept. 30.
